Il sensore termo-igrometrico è installato su esposta e ventosa zona nelle vicinanze del Rif. Città di Vittorio Veneto, in Comune di Fregona (TV), ad una quota di 1547m. s.l.m. (appena al di sotto della cima principale). Il sito di misura risente delle brezze che risalgono i pendii esposti a sud-ovest e dei venti talora tempestosi da nord specie in condizioni di fohn. Sono assai frequenti i temporali estivi e in inverno le temperature possono scendere al di sotto dei -10°C, seppur la totale esposizione alla pianura ed ai flussi miti sciroccali ne fanno un punto tra i primi a risentire del rialzo termico in occasione di circolazioni da sud.
