Stazione situata alle falde dei monti Alburni. Controne ha un microclima particolare dato proprio dalla protezione della massicciata della montagna che si staglia sul centro abitato (si intravede dalle foto). La stazione non ha ostacoli se non un palazzo posto a 15-20 metri di distanza in direzione NE. Per il resto tutti gli edifici sono più bassi rispetto al tetto su cui è posta la stazione. L'altezza del palazzo della stazione è di 15-17 metri.
