Il Pian Cansiglio è un vasto altopiano tra le province di Belluno, Treviso e Pordenone e, grazie alla conformazione orografica "a catino", favorisce tipiche condizioni di inversione termica che si accentuano in particolare nelle depressioni del terreno. La stazione di Agriturismo Le Code rappresenta la quota media del Pian Cansiglio e quindi è rappresentante dell'andamento dell'area centrale del bacino, risente dei fenomeni di inversione termica ma al tempo stesso non è oggetto di estremi notturni rilevanti, come accade invece per la vicina località de I bech, a circa 1.5km di distanza.
