Paese sempre ben riparato dalle correnti ventose, con clima invernale freddo e secco e abbondanti precipitazioni nevose. In inverno il paese é caratterizzato dall'assenza del sole per tre mesi consecutivi, essendo posizionato proprio ai piedi della Presolana nord. In estate invece il sole sorge molto presto, su un basso orizzonte, assicurando giornate assolate lunghe e calde. Vegetazione rigogliosa al limite delle abitazioni, con prevalenza di faggio, abete e poco larice. Roccia calcarea di tipo dolomitico.
